THE ALLURE OF PERSIA ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Scimitar Brooch /
Pin ):
Visually striking, this Vintage Bakelite Scimitar (c. 1940)
brings to mind the “Tales of the Arabian Nights”. This fearsome weapon
evokes the exotic spirit of desert brigands and a green oasis. An
example of the Bakelite “Persian” design series, this brooch is “a book
piece” seen in many of the Bakelite books. Mysterious and seductive,
this pin is quite grand in scale. The blade is a deep marbleized green
and the handle is opaque black with hand carved black accents. The hilt
of this “killer” brooch is embellished with brass studs and rosettes.
There are two free swinging chains that add additional menace to the
look of the curved blade scimitar. The one piece riveted pin back has a
safety clasp. Prepare to be noticed when you wear this exotic and
unforgettable Vintage Bakelite Treasure. Think of the tales you can
tell! Condition: Excellent. This pin is designed to be worn at a slight

BOW WOW! ( Brad Elfrink Vintage Bakelite Bulldog Brooch / Pin ):
My favorite contemporary Bakelite designer, Brad Elfrink, hand
carved this delightfully whimsical sleepy bulldog resting in his red dog
house. Brad uses only Vintage Bakelite to produce his one-of-a-kind
works of art. This is definitely a pin for dog lovers. You bulldog
owners wont’ be able to pass this one up! The house is carved of red and
black vintage Bakelite and a marbleized off-white is used for the dog.
His teeth are white Bakelite inlay; his opened eye & nose are inlayed
black Bakelite. The back has a nickel silver safety clasp pin component
secured with rivets. Brad has carved his name and date, “6.7.7”, on the
back. A true original by an artist of growing reputation. Condition:

PEACHES & CREAM ( Vintage French Bakelite / French Ivory Necklace
):
I am offering a sublimely “cool” necklace from my personal
collection of French Ivory. The term “French Ivory” is used to describe
French Bakelite that has been grained to reproduce the look of ivory at
a fraction of the price. Graduated balls and cylindrical beads
alternate, interspersed with faux pale coral, flattened beads to give a
cool Mediterranean look to the necklace. It hangs nicely due to the 3
coral colored beads on each side of the center bead. There is a screw
clasp closure. An unusual piece, light in weight this necklace look
great on so many colors – green, brown, back, even on purple. It is
spectacular on gray. I purchased this necklace in the 1970’s or early
80’s. I hope you will love it as much as I do. Condition: Excellent.
Size: Total necklace is 24” long, round beads vary from 5/8” to 7/8”,
cylinders range from 1/2” to 3/4” wide. All cylinder beads are 1” long. |

CLUSTERS OF RIPE OLIVES ( French Bakelite Jewelry Necklace ):
Fruits and berries were one of the most popular novelty themes of the
1940’s. Ladies dripped with red cherries, oranges and bananas – all in
an attempt to keep the thoughts of war at bay. This tasty treat necklace
features clusters of marbleized rust olives with veined light olive
green celluloid leaves hanging from a deep olive celluloid chain. There
is a very large spring ring closure. This necklace is a French Bakelite
version of the much more costly Vintage Bakelite classics. A great
novelty necklace that will always “chase all the blues away”. This
season is full of these whimsically fashion tributes to the past. Light
and easy to wear, you’ll feel like the spotlight is always on you.
Condition: Excellent. Size: Chain length is 18” (the center cluster
hangs 4” below my collar bone). Olive clusters hang 2” long, olives ¾”.
There are 5 clusters with 2 olives & 2 leaves spaced around the

BOLD SUMMER DELIGHTS (Vintage Matched Pair of Lucite Bangles ):
Here is a matched pair of Vintage Lucite domed bangles (c.1950-60) that
have been hand painted with stylized deep green leaves and bright yellow
flowers. These bangles are a light hearted look for summer, full of
sunlight and green gardens. I love the look of these especially now when
clear Lucite jewelry is so HOT! These are very deep ½” bracelets that
you won’t be able to duplicate at any store. (They “clunk” like Vintage
Bakelite.) Purchased in Paris, they would be fun on a cruise or at your
own backyard picnic. Think tropical! Condition: Excellent. There are

BYE, BYE BIRDIE ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Bird Pin / Brooch ):
Here is a tested Vintage Bakelite deeply carved Bird Brooch that is a
real Beauty! (c. 1940) The color is between a tasty butterscotch and a

ISADORA FALLING LEAVES ( Vintage French Bakelite Jewelry Isadora Earrings ): These terrific looking leaf shaped clip earrings were designed by the creative and imaginative French designer, Isadora. They were originally purchased in the early 80’s in Paris at the Isadora Shop. I was lucky to obtain these delightful ombred orange leaf earrings. They are shaded from a medium orange to a deep rich red orange. I have always loved her bold signature necklaces, but these are the first earrings I fell for! “Isadora” is stamped in gold on the back of these pretty leaves. VINTAGE CARVED & COLORFUL ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Bangles ):
This set of Vintage Bakelite bangles combines the traditional Bakelite
colors of marbleized translucent green, creamed corn and cherry red. (c.
1930’s-40’s) The creamed corn bangle has wonderful deep hand carving

THE BLACK STALLION ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Horse Pin / Brooch ):
This handsome jet black steed reminds me of my childhood passion for the
“Black Stallion” books. I still have all of my first edition copies
tucked away. When my friend – contemporary Bakelite designer, Brad
Elfrink – carved this stallion I knew I had to have him. Brad hand
carves all of his original designs using only Vintage Bakelite stock.
One of a kind, this beautiful horse has a detailed mane and tail. His
hooves, mouth, nostril and eye give him a wonderfully expressive look as
he rears up on his back legs or gallops away – depending on how you
decide to pin him. There is a safety clasp pin back and Brad has signed
and dated (8-13-6) this black beauty. If you love horses or great
Bakelite, you will enjoy wearing this highly collectible work of art. I

CONNOISSEURS PASSION ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Bangle Pair ):
Bakelite connoisseurs have a passion for rich and luscious colors. These
two Vintage Bakelite bangles are heavily carved in a running leaf
pattern. (c. 1940) The deep carving and thick walls enhance the colors
and increase their value. The top domed bangle is a color I will
describe as a deep rust/orange (not a bright orange). The bottom bangle
is a delicious milk chocolate that enhances the rust shade of the other
bangle. An extremely pleasing combination, these two beauties look
terrific as a pair. Toss in a butterscotch or a green and create a
totally different look. I like to by my vintage bangles in pairs or sets
because they are instantly wearable and you are not stuck with singles
that never seem to look right with anything. Wear this striking pair and
you will instantly express your creativity and enthusiasm for the best
of Vintage Bakelite. Condition: Excellent. A few light scratches from
wear. They are vintage, too! The brown bangle has a light scuff and a
tiny indentation on the inside edge (see photo). They are priced to

my personal collection, I am offering this stunning hand carved Vintage
Bakelite floral clamper bracelet. The bracelet closes in the front at
the center top of your wrist. The marbleized translucent rootbeer color
glistens and gleams with life. The hand carved flowers are all slightly
different, as you would expect in a Vintage Bakelite bracelet. I love
the pattern on the closure – it leaves the center with a graceful
slant. The hinge is really tight with no traces of rust. The only reason
I am parting with this beauty is that it no longer fits my wrist. So you
ladies with small wrists will benefit. Clampers are the answer to your
prayers and this one is a real treasure. A collector’s dream!
