The 6 cute fully rounded carrots have the same texture as real carrots. The combination is so much fun and you will receive lots of compliments when wearing it. BB211	A PARIS LEGEND ( French Bakelite Jewelry Pin ): This is the Best & Biggest French Bakelite pin of the legendary American exotic dancer, Josephine Baker. She made history in Paris by dancing naked with only a skirt of silk bananas and some ethnic jewelry. Her great charm and bigger than life personality took Paris by storm. This incredible French Bakelite rendering of her in full swing is the largest and most eye-popping pin imaginable. The brass necklace (which swings freely), bracelets and ankle band were signature pieces associated with Josephine Baker. Her facial features and deep yellow banana skirt have been hand painted. These yummy pieces have been created by using Vintage Bakelite stock, cut, polished, reassembled and laminated into a stylish bar pin and wonderful clip earrings. I purchased this set at a fashionable craft show in NYC about 15 years ago. The shades of autumn are blended in a luscious symphony of color. Translucent marbleized butterscotch and rootbeer dominate the pin with touches of opaque cream corn and applejuice. Melt in your mouth delicious colors! BB234	HIGHLAND THISTLE ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Brooch by Designer Brad Elfrink ): You certainly have never seen a Bakelite Thistle Brooch! I have the good fortune to know contemporary Bakelite designer, Brad Elfrink. Brad hand carves all of his original designs using only Vintage Bakelite stock. Each pin is one of a kind. This classy thistle pin has a rich, marbleized emerald green base with inlayed, laminated pinkish- lavender Bakelite blossoms. The green Vintage Bakelite is thick and deep enough to have curly ends on the leaves. This pin is constructed entirely of vintage materials, including the polished brass safety clasp pin component and the brads attaching it to the back. Brad has signed and dated (2-9-6) this exquisite example of Scottish heritage. I am certain that Brad’s work will become collector pieces. I warn you – his work is addicting! BB243	BAKELITE BANGLES – FASHION’S FAVORITE ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Set of Three Bangles ): Fashion has embraced the bangle bracelet as a “must have” accessory! What is more fun than a set of Bakelite bangles “clacking” on your wrist? This set of three carved Vintage Bangles includes a pair of creamed corn bangles and a rich toffee marbleized center bangle. All of the bracelets are carved – the pair of cream corn is a matched set. One of them is slightly darker than the other. BB206, BB184, BB208	BLACK BOWTIES & BULL’S EYE DOTS ( French Bakelite Jewelry Bangle Bracelets ): A dramatic retro Bakelite look is evident in this trio of multi-colored bull’s eye dots and bowtie bangles by contemporary designer Judith Evans. These bangles have a base color of dramatic black with bull’s eyes and bowties in red, yellow, orange and green. Made from French Bakelite without the formaldehyde that causes color changes in Vintage Bakelite, these beauties will always remain the colors that you see. They look and feel like Vintage Bakelite, but at a fraction of the cost. You could never get vintage bangles at this price. The slightly larger inner dimensions allow ladies with larger hands to wear these and those with smaller wrists can simply add smaller bangles in front. BB229	A DOZEN DOTS ( French Bakelite Jewelry Bangle Bracelet ): Fashion loves them – Men love them. A classic 12 dot domed bangle bracelet by Judith Evans. Red and black dots seem to float on your arm because of the clear setting of this fresh and fabulous bangle. All Evans French Bakelite is made without formaldehyde, but they look and feel like vintage Bakelite. These pieces will not change colors and cost a fraction of the price of Vintage Bakelite. The larger inner dimension allows ladies with larger wrists to wear these and those ladies with smaller wrists can simply add smaller spacers. (Red or black would give you a great look.) BB235	FRENCH PANTOMIME CLOWNS ( French Bakelite Jewelry Earrings ): I seldom see French Bakelite Earrings of real quality. I pounced on this pair of Pierrot heads because of their wistful and romantic appeal. Each face is delicately hand painted and surrounded by a large ruffled collar. The clown, Pierrot, is a well known character from French Pantomime and was popularized by fashion legend, Elsa Schiaparelli, in the 1930’s. These clowns dangle from a black bead and are made for pierced ears. The heads swing freely from a silver toned metal bar. French Bakelite looks and feels like Vintage Bakelite, but it has a milk base and does not test as Bakelite. The French designs are different from their American counterparts. BB238	PINK & WHITE DELIGHT ( Vintage Lucite Bangle Set ): The color pink seems fresh and trendy again. Since there is no pink Vintage Bakelite, this set of Vintage pearlite Lucite bangles may be just the thing you are looking for. A set of six bangles combine to give you an arm full of shades of pink. (There is no orange in these bangles, only pink, rose and white.) At the center are two pearlite bangles, one white and one pink. Two thin Vintage pink bangles are set with rhinestones and on the outside are two pearlite bangles that alternate dashes of pale pink and rosy pink. The set is light weight and silky on your wrist. Try something different – assert your own style. These 1950’s bangles are something old and something new for you. Condition: Excellent. The white pearlite bangle has a few light marks on it. BB205	KILLER COMBO: BLACK & IVORY ( Bakelite Jewelry Bangle Set ): One of my personal favorite Bakelite combinations is these black and ivory colored sets that I put together. Refined and elegant, they work beautifully all year round and compliment any solid color. This set of three contains a black feather cut Bakelite Bangle, an ivory “almond” designed French Bakelite Bangle and finally, at your wrist, an ivory and black striped French Bakelite Bangle with a smaller inner dimension, so you ladies with medium or small wrists can wear this trio nicely. The advantage to French Bakelite is that it will not change color. I like to sell in sets so that they are ready to go as soon as you receive them. BB200	JEWELTONE SHULTZ SPARKLING HEARTS ( Vintage Lucite Jewelry Shultz Pin ): Contemporary designers, Ron and Ester Shultz, set the Bakelite world on its heels with their hand carved Bakelite and Lucite designs. They use only vintage materials that have been polished to bring back the stunning bright color range that originally existed. One of the most amazing characteristics of Shultz jewelry is that, although many of the pieces are clearly inspired by vintage designs, the Shultz’s reinterpret these designs and manage to come up with pieces that are a charming synthesis of the old and new. Hearts were an extremely popular design motif in the ‘30’s and ‘40’s. In this hand made one-of-a-kind Shultz “puffy” heart pin you feel as if you are seeing a completely new design. Actually, these Vintage Lucite hearts have been “Shultzified”. Three large Vintage Lucite Hearts in Blue, Red and Clear are fully dimensional, hanging from a clear celluloid chain attached to a reverse carved light red bar. The back of the bar has been reverse carved and a safety clasp closure added. (A similarly designed pin lucite heart pin is pictured in Karima Perry’s book “Shultz Bakelite Jewelry”, page 117.) This playful pin shimmers & glistens and lifts your spirits. Better than diamonds any day. You will find that Shultz pieces are addicting, so watch out! Condition: Excellent. BB226	CLOWNING AROUND ( French Bakelite Jewelry Bangle Bracelet ): I have many request for Pierrot themed jewelry, so I am pleased to list this fanciful French Bakelite Bracelet. The deep red marbleized bangle is embellished with three hand painted Pierrot Clown faces. Pierrot is a famous character from French pantomime. He is pictured here with his white ruffled collar and black skull cap. Pierrot is a charming, but often sad, fellow who generally looses out to the stronger pantomime characters. Perhaps that is why he is so popular. But he never gives up hope and never ceases to entertain the three carved and hand painted clown disks are riveted to the red bangle. French Bakelite is made with a milk base so it does not test like Bakelite. If you collect Pierrot jewelry – or not – you will love this fanciful bangle. Condition: Excellent. BB138	SWINGIN’ ON THE MOON ( French Bakelite Jewelry Pin ): Whimsical and charming, this French Bakelite Pin shows the figure of Pierrot literally swinging from the moon. Made of Galalith, one of the oldest plastics used, it looks and feels like Vintage Bakelite. Galalith has a milk base and is often referred to as “French Bakelite”. The clown, Pierrot, comes from French Pantomime and was popularized by fashion legend, Elsa Schiaparelli, in the 1930’s. The face in the moon and all of the details of Pierrot are hand painted. This stylish clown actually swings freely from the moon on thin metal rhinestone pavéd bars. Perfectly delightful and one of my favorite pieces. Heat set pin back with a safety clasp. BB176, BB177, BB178, BB179	BRAVO TO FRENCH HANDS ( French Bakelite Jewelry Pin ): These beautifully manicured hands are made of Galalith, known as French Bakelite. French Bakelite has the look and feel of Bakelite, but does not test as American Bakelite because one of its ingredients is skimmed milk. Each vintage design "drama queen" hand has a "V" shaped ring decorated with 3 rhinestones. A large colored stone flanked by rhinestones forms a fancy cuff bracelet. The top hand has a purple colored stone in the center of the bracelet, the second a blue stone, the third a pink stone and the forth and final hand has a red stone. Each hand has hand painted red polished nails. The pin backs are heat set and each has a safety clasp closure. Add one of these conversation pieces to your collection now. Two are even more fun! BB149	ALL ABOARD! ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Pin ): Patriotic themes were extremely popular in the 1940’s. Bakelite seemed to capture that American spirit and sweethearts and wives wore bold and bright pins that declared their love and faith in our military. This Vintage Bakelite Brooch has large red and black anchors suspended from a translucent red bar. (c. 1940’s) Anchors have historically been the symbol of hope. These “dangle pins” had a cheerful and optimistic look – in contrast to the reality of war. This vintage brooch has a heat set pin back with a safety clasp. Spirit and style in one delightful nautical beauty. Condition: Excellent. The black anchor may have been navy blue originally. A few light superficial scratches – they are vintage also! BB131	A PERFECT STRIKE ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Pin ): This Vintage Bakelite translucent root beer colored sports pin is a real winner! (c. 1940) Four fully rounded bowling pins and a round bowling ball (complete with 3 finger holes) are suspended from two large crossed bowling pins to form this delightfully whimsical pin. BB098	RED HOT SHULTZ HAND ( Shultz Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Brooch ): What could be more fun then a Vintage Red Bakelite Hand wearing a polka dot Bakelite Bangle? Really! A wonderful pin featured on Page 118 of Karima Parry’s book “Shultz Bakelite Jewelry”.
