BB253	BOLD SUMMER DELIGHTS (Vintage Matched Pair of Lucite Bangles ): Here is a matched pair of Vintage Lucite domed bangles (c.1950-60) that have been hand painted with stylized deep green leaves and bright yellow flowers. These bangles are a light hearted look for summer, full of sunlight and green gardens. I love the look of these especially now when clear Lucite jewelry is so HOT! These are very deep ½” bracelets that you won’t be able to duplicate at any store. (They “clunk” like Vintage Bakelite.) Purchased in Paris, they would be fun on a cruise or at your own backyard picnic. Think tropical! Condition: Excellent. There are some light vintage scratches. BB254	PEACHES & CREAM ( Vintage French Bakelite / French Ivory Necklace ): I am offering a sublimely “cool” necklace from my personal collection of French Ivory. The term “French Ivory” is used to describe French Bakelite that has been grained to reproduce the look of ivory at a fraction of the price. Graduated balls and cylindrical beads alternate, interspersed with faux pale coral, flattened beads to give a cool Mediterranean look to the necklace. It hangs nicely due to the 3 coral colored beads on each side of the center bead. There is a screw clasp closure. An unusual piece, light in weight this necklace look great on so many colors – green, brown, back, even on purple. It is spectacular on gray. I purchased this necklace in the 1970’s or early 80’s. I hope you will love it as much as I do. Condition: Excellent. Size: Total necklace is 24” long, round beads vary from 5/8” to 7/8”, cylinders range from 1/2” to 3/4” wide. BB199	BERRY TREATS ( French Bakelite Jewelry Pin & Earrings Set ): This “good enough to eat” Berry Pin and Earring set is made of French Bakelite. I believe that this set is produced by Minnie and Dice. A large French Ivory grained oval forms the base of the pin. A deep burgundy brown celluloid chain holds 8 round cherries on undamaged brown strings. There are 4 opaque spearmint green berries and 4 marbleized peachy brown berries. The eight molded and veined leaves are pale green and peachy/brown. It is a large pin and the chain with the berries swings freely. There is a safety clasp closure. The matching earrings are clip backs. Fruit pins are highly collectable and this set is one you seldom see. It will make you feel like springtime any time of the year. Condition: Excellent. I do not know the age of this set. I have had it for 4 years. Size: Pin 3 1/2” long, 3 3/4” wide. Berries are 5/8” in diameter. Earrings 2 1/8” long, 1 1/4” wide.	$150.00 For The Set
BB078	RIDE THE WAVE ( French Bakelite Jewelry Bangle Bracelet ): Fun and Fancy, this red / black wave and dot bangle will please everyone. An unsigned Judith Evans piece it looks and feels like vintage Bakelite. Since the inner dimension is 2 5/8" it will fit a bit larger wrist. I wear mine combined with vintage pieces all the time. BB272	RARE METAL CLAD MAIDEN BANGLE ( Vintage Metal Clad Bakelite Jewelry Small “Maiden” Bangle ): “Maiden” bangle is a term used to describe small bracelets made for small wrists or for young girls. (c. 1935-40) This size is very difficult to find at all, but to be able to offer a Metal Clad Vintage Bakelite Bangle is a rare treat! The inlaying of metal into plastic became popular in the mid-thirties and nowhere was it used to greater advantage than with pieces of carved Bakelite. Before that time, decorative metal was either screwed or cemented in place. But with the discovery of a new technique, the grooves in carved plastic pieces could be filled with molten silver or gold-colored “liquid” metal that was poured at a lukewarm temperature (so as not to scorch the plastic), allowed to harden and then polished and finished all of a piece. Six double swirls of warm Cream Corn Bakelite has been inlayed with gilt metal. The entire inside of the bangle is also covered with gilt metal inlay. I have had this piece in my personal collection for years and never needed to polish it. (And it doesn't turn my wrist green.) An extraordinary example of metal inlay in fabulous condition. Even if you can’t wear it, this bangle is a piece that belongs in any superior collection of Vintage Bakelite. Condition: Excellent. Tiny smooth round dark dots of unknown origin on the inside. BB237	BEETLE BUG BROOCH ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Brooch / Pin by Designer Brad Elfrink ): Here is the biggest and best Beetle Bug Brooch you could wish for! One of a kind, this brooch is hand carved by contemporary Bakelite designer, Brad Elfrink. Brad carves all of his original designs using only Vintage Bakelite stock. The cherry red body is carved in detail and then laminated onto a black Vintage Bakelite base – the legs are part of the base carving. He has some black enamel detailing on the red body and two shiny black Swarovski Rhinestones for eyes. There is a large safety clasp pin back. This piece is signed and dated (12-8-6) by Brad Elfrink. Photos do not do justice to the large dimensional work of this beetle. The cherry red and black combination could not be more fashionable. BB270	*RARE ISADORA* FROLICKING FROG POND ( Vintage French Bakelite Jewelry “Isadora” Necklace ):** This large Vintage French “Isadora” Necklace is a truly exceptional piece to add to any collection. The theme of a whimsical frog and lily pads is extremely charming. I just love the colors! Made of Galalith (often called French Bakelite), the graduated round beads range from deep red to soft pale green and ivory. The large theme pieces are soft green fading into a deeper green and a soft coral pink gradually becoming a deeper rose tipped shade. (The true colors are better seen on the photos with white backgrounds.) This necklace – typical of Isadora pieces – uses big, bold elements to enhance the incredible necklace design. It remains difficult to learn very much about the lady herself, but I have heard from some shoppers who visited her shop in Paris back in the 1980’s. Even then her pieces were very limited and expensive. Isadora opened her shop in 1975 and designed pieces through the ‘80’s. (Her shop has long been closed.) The back of this necklace is hot stamped with the Isadora logo and is marked “Isadora Paris”, “© Isadora 1980”. The catch is a screw barrel clasp. Isadora always wanted to give her pieces a certain exclusive, limited production, so that her clientele had the feeling that they were wearing a rare jewelry piece. I search constantly for a few affordable pieces that I feel convey the best of Isadora’s work. This is an unforgettable necklace that you won’t see again. Condition: Excellent. BB231	BAMBI: SO DEER TO MY HEART ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Bambi Pin ): Walt Disney’s “Bambi” is a movie that has a place in the heart of all children – young and old. I am pleased to offer this Vintage Bakelite Bambi Pin. (c. 1940’s – the movie opened in 1942) This little deer has been over-dyed (for shading) and hand painted. All of the Disney character pins are highly collectible and instantly recognizable. (The Wise Owl, Thumper, Pinocchio, etc.) The safety clasp pin back is heat set. The paint is as good as you could wish for. A Vintage Bakelite pin that will bring you joy and put a song in your heart. BB190	MOD MEMORIES ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Dot Ring ): TV’s late ‘60’s hit show – “Laugh In” – created many comedy stars as well as “Mod” fashions. White go-go boots, mini skirts, wide belts, bell bottoms and “flower power” were weekly staples. A young Goldie Hawn was one of the most popular go-go dancers in a cage. In the late ‘60’s Bakelite made a return since all these styles were playful and whimsical. This ring is from that late 1960’s period. Vintage Bakelite was re-discovered and used by some prominent designers for its bold impact. This ring is made from a completely solid butterscotch ball. The dots are a creamed corn color and cluster at the top and bottom of the ring. The mellow yellow is very cool. The metal ring mount is a thin band that is slightly expandable. Ring size is 6, but will expand to 6 3/4. If you are a fun loving lady or into retro looks, you’ll love this ring. A rare find that will draw many questions and compliments. I wore it for years when the phrase “Sock it to me!” was cool. You don’t see many of these around anymore. Condition: Excellent. A few tiny pin dot sized marks, but to the naked eye it looks great! BB227	A TASTE OF BLACK CHERRY ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Clamper Bracelet ): This gorgeous Vintage Bakelite Clamper Bracelet demonstrates why Bakelite colors are so often described by using fruit and vegetable colors. (c. 1940) How else could you describe this translucent Black Cherry clamper bracelet? The bracelet has a circular medallion composed of a deeply carved flower framed with textured loops of brass ribbon. On each side of the raised medallion are smaller, deeply carved flowers. This bracelet looks magnificent when worn, with three carved flowers covering the front of your wrist. The clamper hinge is tight and the closure is at the front, under the raised medallion. The central brass and Vintage Bakelite floral piece is riveted in place. A showy, but very elegant bracelet. A dynamic combination of color and design. Condition: Excellent. A few light scratches on the back side – they are vintage, too. Size: Central embellished carved Bakelite flower is 1 3/8” in diameter and is 1/2” deep. The bracelet is 7/8” wide, tapering to 3/4” at the back, 1/4” deep. Inner opening is 2 3/8”. It is oval shaped and will be a perfect fit for a small wrist. BB133	ALL AT SEA ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Necklace ): Bakelite, more than any other type of jewelry, honored the American military and other patriotic themes in its 1940’s designs. Women loved having these whimsical and bold pieces of Bakelite to celebrate their devotion to husbands, lovers and friends in the armed services during World War II. This large necklace, based on a jaunty nautical theme of alternating golden yellow and tomato red anchors, is a perfect example of patriotic Bakelite jewelry. BB169	DYNAMITE DOVETAIL SIGNED BANGLE ( Bakelite Jewelry Bangle Bracelet ): I am so pleased to offer you this “Dovetail” Vintage Bakelite Bangle made and signed by contemporary artist, Teresa. The colors are vivid and juicy – they actually shine! Teresa uses all Vintage Bakelite pieces in her creations. The outer edges of this wide bangle are a beautiful marbleized translucent root beer and the “Dovetails” are made of laminated burgundy and cream pieces. The burgundy tails are made from vintage mahjong tiles. Superb work executed with skill and artistry signed “Teresa”. Not a bangle for the faint of heart! Condition: Excellent. BB168	THE COLOR OF AUTUMN ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Pin ): An abundance of radiant Fall colored leaves and logs dangle freely from a deeply carved Vintage Bakelite branch. (c. 1935-45) The root beer leaves are carved and translucent. The logs and branch are over-dyed to add depth and dimension. All of these elements hang from an apple juice celluloid chain. To top it off a dark brown carved nut hangs from the branch and adds a special bit of polish. The heat set pin back has a safety clasp. This woodland themed pin is vintage, vintage, vintage! BB162	*SUPERIORBOOK PIECE* BANGLE ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Bangle ): This beautiful Vintage Bakelite leaf carved bangle with stripes of brass is the exact bangle pictured in the book “Bakelite Bangles” by Karima Parry (p. 76). Occasionally Vintage Bakelite jewelry was decorated with pieces of metal such as these two brass stripes that have been riveted in place. (c. 1930-40) The thick, heavily carved leaf design is a luscious creamed spinach swirl. BB135	CHERRY RED FANTASY FLOWER ( Vintage Bakelite Jewelry Clamper Bracelet ): This high style Vintage Bakelite Clamper Bracelet features a striking cherry red floral motif set on a black Bakelite bracelet. (c. 1940) The red flower tests positive for Bakelite, the black does not – a common occurrence with black Bakelite. Red is the color most desired by collectors.
