IRRESISTIBLE MAN IN A UNIFORM ( Vintage French Bakelite Jewelry Pin ): This whimsical Vintage French Bakelite Black Bellhop pin is both fun and sophisticated. Made of Galalith, one of the oldest plastics, it looks and feels like Bakelite, but it has a milk base. A popular 1930’s figural subject, this bellhop is jointed at his shoulders and waist. He is lightly carved, has eight original rhinestone "buttons" and silver metal stripes inlaid down his pant legs. (The newer ones have a painted silver stripe.) His entire head is hand painted black with his cap tilted forward so that one eye is exposed and he has bright red lips. He is a lighthearted, but commanding figure that is guaranteed to draw attention. Trombone catch pin on back. Condition: Excellent. Some very light scratches on arms from normal wear. 5" tall, 2 1/2" wide.
