DRESSED TO IMPRESS SCOTTIE ( Bakelite Jewelry Pin ): All dressed up and ready for a stroll about town, this hand carved Scottie Dog is sure to attract plenty of attention. Contemporary Bakelite artist, Jim Foltz, uses vintage pieces of Bakelite to create new pieces of whimsical jewelry. This perky pup has a heavily carved coat, an inset eye and a large hand painted polka dot bow. Smart and sassy, he brightens any day. Jim Foltz is one of the “Modern Bakelite Artists” featured in the new book “Collecting Art Plastic Jewelry”. The safety catch pin back has been screwed in and the piece is signed “J. L. Foltz – 05”.
