DAINTY DELIGHT: This shell cameo is so appealing in its sterling and marcasite setting. The unexpected combination of shell and sparkling silver enhance the fairy-like quality of the classic female figure. She seems to be floating on air with her drapery gown drifting gracefully around her. I believe she has a tiny bird or possibly bottle in her hand. I find this cameo altogether enchanting. The sterling and marcasite setting and safety clasp probably make this a piece from the 20's, though it retains an Edwardian sense of style. It can be worn either as a pin or pendant A lovely gift for a young lady or mature woman. Condition: Excellent. 1 5/8" high, 1 1/8" wide.
