VICTORIAN CURLS AND PEARLS ( Victorian Mourning Jewelry Brooch ): Hair inside - hair outside! This beautiful Victorian Mourning Brooch (1850 - 1870) combines both a tubular table-worked hair frame and palette-worked hair curls, held in place by wire twists and pearls. Pieces incorporating both styles of hair work are most collectable. A chased 9 KT gold mounting displays an oval milk glass background with the hair curl enclosed inside a beveled glass compartment. The back of the brooch contains another glass compartment to hold a photo or keepsake. The original C clasp pin back remains. Condition: Excellent. Hair is securely anchored and no chips to glass. A few tiny hairs escape the table-worked hair trim, but no holes or tears. Size: 1 1/4" by 1 1/4".
