AHHH! THERE'S NOTHING SWEETER THAN PUGS IN LOVE: This is a wonderful example of the human characteristics given pugs in the famous Vienna Bronzes starting in the early 20th century. Those of you who own pugs know why the Viennese Artists selected pugs among their very favorite subjects. Let's face it - they quickly become our children. It's hard to judge the age of Vienna Bronzes since they continue to use the same molds, but this one is fairly old judging by the type of paint (the newer ones have bright acrylics) and from the signs of wear on the bottom where some child has obviously sent this row boat on many a cruise. The trademark is hard to see in my photo, but is "F. B." over a "W" - standing for Franz Bermann of Wein (Vienna). Condition: Very good, except for the scrapes on the bottom. 1 3/4" high, 2 1/4" long and 3/4" wide not counting the paddles.
