PUG’S FAVORITE ACTIVITY - SEEKING FOOD ( Vienna Bronze Pug Dog ): This Vienna Bronze Pug Dog & Frog at Market is a great example of the whimsical scenes depicted by the Viennese with these little bronze figures. Pugs were a favorite to use in these pieces because, as all you pug owners know, they are almost human. The merchant frog is weighing 2 Viennese sausages for our pug’s picnic - to go with his French bread and champagne. The weighing plates of the scales swing freely and the colorful fruit and vegetables on the table show great detail. I would guess this is a relatively newly made piece, but the molds for these figures date back to the early 20th century. It has a trademark "SMB". Condition: Excellent. Pug & frog 1 1/2" tall, table 2 1/2" long, total piece 2 3/4" wide.
