DAPPER DAN ( Vintage Vienna Bronze Pug Dog ):
This is a great example of how the Viennese, early on, discovered how
perfect pugs were for use in their humorous and humanized famous Vienna
Bronze animal figurines. This pug looks right at home in his top hat,
smoking his fancy pipe. True, his top hat is a bit crumpled, but he’s
probably had an big night on the town. The Viennese added humor to their
animals in the early 20th Century. This is a relatively old pug - oil
paint and highly sculpted, including the hair of his coat. Newer ones
have bright acrylic paint, larger eyes with white around the pupils and
less detailed sculpting. Condition: Excellent. Light amount of wear to
paint on brim of hat and collar. Size: 2” high, 1 1/2 “ long.
