BLACK PUG’S BIRTHDAY PARTY ( Bermann Vienna Bronze Pug Dog ): This handsome 3 year old Black Vienna Bronze Pug is about to cut his LARGE 3rd birthday cake with a LARGE silver bladed knife. The cake is covered with blue decorated icing and holds 3 candles. I’m sure he will share a slice with you! Though made from an old mold, this pug is relatively new and less expensive than one of his older forbearers would be. He has unusually fine detail for one of the newer pugs, such as the individual hairs covering his body. There are also nice details in his cake presentation – seated on a thin white decorated platter upon a fine reddish brown table cloth. All are separate pieces. A sign reading “Happy Birthday” rests against the cake over a pin-petaled posy. Everything is beautifully painted. He bears the hallmark “FB” over “W”, indicating he was made by the Fritz Bermann Bronze Company of Vienna (Wien), founded in 1850. An unusual finding is what appears to be an imprinted “B” or “H” on the pug’s bottom (see photo). Condition: Excellent. Size: 1 1/2” high, 1 3/4” long, 1 1/8” wide. The cake is 3/4” in diameter.
