WOW! This is really a great and rare old Pug Match Holder / Striker. A
special collector’s piece for either a pug collector of a collector of
smoking paraphernalia. He is beautifully carved with striking glass
eyes. The outside of the pipe bowl resembles tree bark and the bottom
contains a well-used sandpaper striker surface. I fashioned the present
display method, but you can see from the photos containing matches that
it is still functional. There is a screw in the back that can be used to
attach it firmly to a wooden plaque that could be attached to a wall or
other convenient surface. Condition: Excellent for antique wood
figurine. Small chip in right ear. Hole in back of base - may have been
used to hang it. Size: Total - 4 1/2” long, 4” high, 3” wide.
Pug head & collar 2 3/4” long, 2 3/4” high, 2 1/2” wide. Pipe
bowl 2 1/4” high, 1 1/2” diameter. Gold hanger (included) 4 3/4”
high.
