Pug Figurines: PM039

A TRUE VICTORIAN PUG DOG TOY ( Antique Pug Toy ): This may truly be a "one-of-a-kind" pug figurine - because no others like it have survived! I collected dogs as a child and not one made it out of my childhood without a missing limb or tail. This is a chamois leather coat is made to look and feel like a pug dog, so he can be petted by his young owner. And a string could be tied to the ring in front as a leash to walk this cute little pug pet. The realistic looking metal buckle on the left side is attached. His light weight makes me think he is carved wood covered by chamois. I have uncurled his tail with my finger to show you how it curls up - just like those of our pugs. I have shown a bottom view to show how the chamois is fitted. I also need to mention that he has lovely realistic glass eyes. Condition: Very good for a Victorian pug and excellent for a wooden toy. There appear to be linear tears on both shoulders, but his legs feel quite sturdy. He has some dirt on him, but not much, and I’m sure some paint is missing from his face. Size: 3" high, 3 1/4" long, 1" wide.
