ARISTOCRATIC DRESDEN PUG: I love the imperial look of this handsome male Dresden Porcelain Pug Dog. He bears the hallmark of the Thieme Porcelain Manufactory. I recently learned a "Manufactory" is the proper name for a company whose products are all handmade, as opposed to mass produced. Thieme has produced fine hard paste porcelain pieces since 1867 and, aside from Meissen, makes the finest porcelain pugs - all hand decorated and thus distinctive. This one is unusual in being fawn in color with lovely light green eyes. Most are white with tan spots. He is wearing a lovely light blue collar with Victorian gilded bells. How can you pass him up? Condition: Excellent. 4 1/2" high, 4 1/2" long.
