GUESS HOW OLD I AM ( Victorian Porcelain Pug Dog ): The dealer from whom I bought this lovely old Porcelain Pug confidently proclaimed the pug was made in Germany in the early 19th century. I wish I could be as confident about much of my collection of pugs. Maybe the dealer is right, but regardless, he is a very nicely made old porcelain pug of what I would call medium quality - nice molding with a fair amount of detail and few flaws. He’s also nicely decorated, but not with the great detail of Meissen or Dresden Pug Dogs. He is old and he is European. I can’t really say more, except to follow the best advice for collectors - buy the ones you like. That way you’ll never be disappointed. This one "spoke to me". Condition: Excellent. No cracks, chips or repairs - only the usual wearing away of much of the gilt from his bells. 5 1/4" high, 3 1/2" long, 2 1/2" deep.
