HANDSOME MALE DRESDEN PUG DOG ( Dresden Porcelain Pug Dog ): This is a beautifully molded and decorated fine hard paste Dresden Porcelain Pug. I know "Dresden" has become a generic term for high quality porcelain pieces, but this handsome gentleman actually is from Dresden, Germany. He was made by the Carl Thieme Porcelain Manufactory founded in 1867. Though this beauty was made fairly recently, the mold from which he was made dates from the late 19th Century. You can see he is of the pre-Victorian style of Meissen Pug Dogs. He is fawn colored, wears a lovely light blue collar with golden bells and has striking yellow-green eyes. He bears the Thieme Hallmark (pictured) and has "U718T" impressed at the base of his tail. Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs. Size: 4 3/4" high, 4 3/4" long.
