BRITISH PRINCESS ( Basil Matthews Porcelain Pug Dog ): Basil Matthews was a master in making and hand decorating small porcelain animal figurines - often with a touch of whimsy, as shown in this little Pug Princess on her Plush Pillow. To the best of my knowledge Matthews had 2 pug models - this one and a standing pug you can see in my Pug Museum (EB006). All are decorated differently. Matthews figurines are very highly prized and no pug collection is complete without them. Condition: Excellent. Size: 2 5/8" high, base 2 1/8" by 1 5/8".
