PP282
CLASSY STAFFORDSHIRE PUG DOG ( Victorian Staffordshire Porcelain Pug Dog
):
There is great detail in molding and decoration of this slip cast
(hollow) English Porcelain Pug Dog. He dates from the late Victorian
era, wearing the classical golden bell decorated collar. Though he is of
medium quality compared to the fine Dresden and Meissen Porcelain Pugs,
he is a step above most of the pugs of his time and he is unusually well
preserved. He has a lovely light fawn colored coat. Condition:
Excellent. Some of gold paint missing from bells. No chips, cracks or
repairs. Size: 5 1/2" high, 5" long, 2 3/4" deep.
Please note: Makes lovely Pair of
Staffordshire Pugs with PP283, just below.
His coat has slightly more fawn color.
