SMELLING
THE ROSES ( Vintage Chinese Porcelain Pug Dog ):
I don’t collect Chinese Pugs, but I couldn’t pass up this beauty as
part of an estate sale. He is beautifully hand decorated with a
multitude of gorgeous flowers and fruits. I don’t recognize all, but
there are lotus blossoms, roses, peonies, grapes, pears, etc. etc. Most
of the flowers and fruits are rose or blue in color, with delicate green
leaves. Each is different. He also sports a cinnabar colored collar and
large bell with a gold band around it. He is good sized and heavy –
making him very stable. He’d make a lovely decorative pug for your
coffee or end table. I’ve pictured his Chinese hallmark and if anyone
knows more about this type of pug, I’d love to learn. Condition:
Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs. Size: 9 1/2” high, 8” long,
6” wide.
