PUG YOU COULD LOVE ( Antique Bisque Porcelain Pug Dog ):
This Staffordshire-style bisque pug is a lovely warm fawn color –
different from most others of this type I have seen and very loveable.
Bisque Pugs have only one relatively low firing – leaving them with a
soft appearing surface. They are of lesser quality than the highly
glazed pugs, but make a comfortable member of our pug collections. This
slip-cast pug has some minor surface firing defects, including a smooth
area on the back, shown to be original by black light exam. Someone
covered the gold tassels with a clear lacquer to preserve the gold –
usually worn off of antique bells and tassels. Condition: Excellent. No
chips, cracks or repairs. Size: 4 1/4” high, 3 1/2” long.
