THE CLOWN PRINCE ( Eve Pearce Porcelain Pug Dog ): I’ve got
great news!
We collect and sell predominantly antique or antique style pugs. The one
exception is my favorite porcelain artist of modern pugs – Eve Pearce.
For several years that “special” Christmas gift from my special
wife, JJ, has been an Eve Pearce Pug Extravaganza (see personal
collection). We lost contact with Eve a few years back and I’ve sold
all of my personal Pearce Pugs that I can bear to part with. Recently,
we not only re-located Eve and her charming husband, David, but they
have done us the honor of allowing us to obtain and put up for sale at
least one new Pearce Pug a month. I hereby present the first of those
pugs – and what better persona for a pug – the ultimate clown!
Somehow Pearce gets their poses just right – and look at that darling
tail. We’ve all seen our pugs lying with a toy under his or her paw
saying “Let’s play!” Eve’s pugs, made from hard pasted
porcelain, are not molded, but modeled by hand – so there are no two
alike. Yours will always be unique. Each has felt pads on the base to
