THE ARISTOCRAT ( Vintage Porcelain Pug Dog ): Today pugs enrich the lives of the common man like you and me as well as the rich and famous. Prior to the 20th Century they were best know as the companions of royalty and the aristocracy. This pug is a reminder of that high class history. He is dressed in a top coat adorned with fun cuffs and a fur collar trimmed in blue. (It even has pockets!) He is wearing a dress shirt with a golden tie along with a golden top hat. I dont really know his history he may have been a fairing piece or a souvenir. He is slip cast, nicely molded and has 8596 embedded on his back haunch. Posed to display. Condition: Excellent. Very light wear to the gilding on edges of top hat. Size: 3 1/2 high, 2 5/8 wide, 1 1/4 deep.
