IVORY AND INDIAN: Now here is a real cross-over item. Infinite detail went into the scrimshaw design of this Hopi Kachina figure on ivory. Look at his headdress or the pouches suspended from his belt. Spectacular detail. It is a hallmarked piece though I do not recognize the artist. The whole ivory portrait is bezel set in a twisted wire frame with a solid silver backing. Can be worn as a pin or pendant. You won't be seeing this kind of work often. Condition: Very fine. A few surface scratches. 1 1/2" high, 1 1/4" wide.
