IVORY GUARD DOGS ( Victorian Ivory Jewelry Bracelet ): Now this is a bracelet that captures your attention! A late Victorian (c 1880 - 1900) expandable bracelet with carved ivory bulldog heads at each end. The carving is beautifully detailed and shows off the ivory grain and patina. The eyes are tiny Burmese rubies. I would say that this piece was made in the orient for the European trade. Each ivory dog head is attached to the bracelet with a brass beaded circlet. The flexible bracelet is a very fine brass woven mesh. Condition: Very Good. Ivory heads are perfect, mesh on bracelet shows some wear. Size: Ivory heads 1" each. Expandable mesh bracelet 9 1/2" long - 2 1/2" inside diameter without expanding it. Fits medium to large wrist.
