GARDEN UNDER GLASS ( Victorian Carved Ivory Jewelry Brooch ): This absolutely fabulous ivory and gold brooch features roses, daisies and a chrysanthemum hand carved with incredible attention to detail and three-dimensional depth. No doubt carved in China for the foreign market. Set in a 14K gold sawtooth patterned frame and covered with a glass dome, to protect the elaborate carving. The deep ivory carving is set in a high double bezel setting. The brooch fastens with a C clasp and tubular hinged pin. A ring for a safety chain remains on the back. Dating to about 1870, this piece is in flawless condition, worthy of a museum or the finest private collection. Condition: Excellent. 2" wide, 1 5/8" high, 1/2" deep.
