*MONIES* BOLD RESIN & GOLD STRETCH BRACELET: Gerda and Nicolai Monies are an internationally known design team from Denmark who create spectacular jewelry. This incredible resin and gold flecked bracelet illustrates Gerda’s philosophy that jewelry should be big, bold and provocative. “Big earrings, bracelets and necklaces add drama to a woman’s personality.” I certainly concur with that idea! Eight huge pieces of molded resin, containing brilliant yellow gold flakes and chunks, have been strung on two thick pieces of round elastic to create a bracelet that will fit a large or medium wrist. Since it stretches it will go over a large hand. Beware – this is a large piece of jewelry – not for the timid!! Monies designs have been sold at boutiques for years and are currently being sold at Bloomingdales. Clear resin jewelry is Hot! Hot! Hot!

Condition: Excellent.
Size: The individual pieces vary in size from 2 ½” to 3 ¼” in length, 1 ¾” to ¾” wide. All are in the range of ½” thick. It stretches open to at least 10” to slide on, yet fits my 6 ½”wrist nicely when worn.

*AMY KAHN RUSSELL* FROG PIN / PENDANT: This is an original AKR design. The top stones are an oval cabochon amethyst and a charming ametrine hand carved fish. The center is a delightful froggy, hand carved from fallen deer antler. Lots of detail on froggy – his back has carved ridges and he has large eyes and a mouth. He is three dimensional with his head raised. I love his fat little body! The bottom stones are a yellow citrine and 2 peachy colored pieces of mother-of-pearl. The stones and the frog carving are all bezel set in Sterling Silver with a safety clasp pin back and a hook large enough for a nice sized silver chain or a neck wire. The pin/pendant is marked “Sterling” and bears the hallmark “AKR”. The colors are soft and appealing – and the frog is very dear.

Condition: Excellent.
Size: The entire pendant is 3” long, 1 1/4" wide and the frog is 1/2" deep.

ANTIQUE TIBETAN TRIBAL PENDANT: Perched on a plateau in the Himalayas, Tibet at first glance appears to be a country overshadowed by its much larger neighbors – India to the west and China to the east. Tibet is known worldwide for its astonishing jewelry, such as this piece. The large silver cap on this coral pendant is decorated with a repoussé design representing a ram. Repoussé is a method of embossing a metal sheet by punching and hammering a design from the back, then polishing it up in front with a chasing hammer, producing a three dimensional surface. The cap is then filled with pitch or some other substance to make it solid. There is a large natural branch of red coral below the silver cap. The coral is smooth to the touch and is said to protect the wearer from harm and illness. Who knows how many owners have passed this ethnic beauty along on its journey to you. A fascinating piece of cultural history, this pendant is certain to interest any collector of the exotic and intriguing.

Condition: Excellent. Chain is not included.
Size: 3 1/8” long including bale, 1 1/2" at widest point, 3/4" deep. Silver cap is 1 5/8” high, coral is 1 1/2" long.

VINTAGE CHARM BRACELET OF SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES: When I was young, the dreaded “car trip” came with every summer. One year, when I was about 12, we “did” the West in 9 days. It remains a blur except for the fact that at every stop I purchased these beautiful nuggets that my mom made into a very special charm bracelet. I was the envy of all my female schoolmates. There are 20 different nuggets in all, including – bloodstone, rock crystal, unakite, tiger’s eye, amethyst, carnelian, jasper, agate and obsidian (also called “Apache tears”). I just don’t remember all of the others, but each one was chosen after great deliberation. “Can’t you hurry up?” The chain link bracelet is gold filled and has a fold over clasp. The bracelet is light and comfortable. Fifty years later I realize that I was on my way to becoming a jewelry diva at 12! Mixing colors, textures and memories – this nugget bracelet is indeed charming! Condition: Excellent. One tiny chip was all I could see after examining each stone. Size: Bracelet length is 7”, stones average 1 1/4” long. $35.00

VINTAGE SIGNED METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART STERLING EGYPTIAN REVIVAL PIN / PENDANT /: This amazing Egyptian Pin/Pendant has been in my personal collection since the 70’s. The impact of the “TUT” exhibitions has had a strong influence on jewelry – and why not? It’s in the best of taste. This portrait is of the goddess Hathor – worshipped by all Egyptian women. Hathor was the Egyptian mother goddess and the protector of pregnant women. Her headdress was a solar disk resting between horns. This beautifully rendered brooch is stamped “Sterling” and has the hallmark “MMA”, the Metropolitan Museum of Art. These pieces are reproduced by artists from the actual jewelry of the period. The deep gold color is achieved by gold plating a thin layer of gold over the silver. The vertical pin back has a safety clasp and also a pendant slide. I almost always wore it as a pendant on an interesting chain. Egyptian Revival jewelry has grown in popularity since the opening of Tut’s tomb in 1922 and the US King Tut Exhibition Tours of 1977 and more recently in 2007. It shows no sign of slowing down!

Condition: Excellent.
Size: 2 5/8” high, 1 1/8” wide.

*MARTHA PRENTISS* VINTAGE ANGELSKIN CORAL RING: I had this gorgeous hand carved Angelskin coral rose custom mounted in a ring setting about 30 years ago. As I requested, jeweler Martha Prentiss did a beautiful job of featuring the rose without exposing hardly any of the setting. Set in a Sterling Silver claw mount, four Sterling curved round bands meet at the shoulders to form a simple shank. The color of the deeply carved rose is a light pink with deeper pink accents. I wore it on my little finger and it never failed to make an impression when I moved my hands. The current ring size is a 5 1/2. (The band can be made larger if you have a good jeweler.) The ring back is hallmarked “MP”. This is a very large piece of angelskin coral which has become very scarce. Condition: Excellent. Size: Ring size is a 5 1/2. Coral rose is 2” high, 1” wide, 5/8” deep. Ring band at back is 1/4” wide. SOLD!

All the cats are dimensional and their bodies have a light dusting of iridescent glitter. Austrian crystals, Czechoslovakian glass, resins and brass topped with a thick coating of 24KT gold electroplate are trademarks of all LATR jewelry. The LATR logo appears on the back.
